For your information, it's useful to know that most of the cPanel Hosting offerings on the contemporary web hosting marketplace are generated by a very unsubstantial marketing niche (as far as yearly cash flow is concerned) called hosting reseller. Reseller website hosting is a sort of a small-sized business segment, which generates a huge number of different web hosting brand names, yet supplying literally the same solutions: mostly cPanel web hosting solutions. This is bad news for everyone. Why? Because at least ninety eight percent of the web hosting offerings on the entire website hosting marketplace provide exactly the same solution: cPanel. There's no diversity at all. Even the cPanel-based Hosting prices are identical. Very identical. Giving those who require a top web hosting service practically no other website hosting platform/web hosting CP option. So, there is simply one single fact: out of more than 200,000 website hosting brand names in the world, the non-cPanel based ones are less than two percent! Less than 2%, mark that one...

200,000 "Hosting vendors", all cPanel-based, yet diversely labeled

The Hosting "diversity" and the website hosting "offerings" Google reveals to us come down to merely one and the same solution: cPanel. Under hundreds of thousands of different web hosting trademarked names. Imagine you are just a regular guy who's not very well aware of (as most of us) with the website development processes and the website hosting platforms, which actually power the separate domain names and online portals. Are you ready to make your web hosting pick? Is there any web hosting alternative you can choose? Sure there is, today there are more than two hundred thousand website hosting corporations in existence. Formally. Then where is the difficulty? Here's where: more than ninety eight percent of these more than two hundred thousand unique web hosting brand names worldwide will give you the very same cPanel website hosting CP and platform, labeled differently, with strictly the same price tags! WOW! That's how enormous the assortment on today's web hosting marketplace is... Period.

The Hosting LOTTO we are all part of

Simple arithmetic demonstrates that to select a non-cPanel based web hosting corporation is an immense strike of luck. There is a less than one in 50 chance that something like that will occur! Less than one in 50...

The positive and negative points of the cPanel Hosting solution

Let's not be merciless with cPanel. After all, in the years 2001-2004 cPanel was modern and perhaps answered most website hosting business preconditions. To put it briefly, cPanel can do the trick if you have only one single domain to host. But, if you have more domains...

Predicament Number 1: A ludicrous domain folder system

If you have two or more domain names, though, be extremely careful not to erase entirely the add-on ones (that's how cPanel will dub each next hosted domain, which is not the default one: an add-on domain name). The files of the add-on domains are quite easy to erase on the web hosting server, because they all are located into the root folder of the default domain name, which is the quite famous public_html folder. Each add-on domain name is a folder situated inside the folder of the default domain name. Like a sub-folder. Next time try not to remove the files of the add-on domain names, please. Verify for yourself how marvelous cPanel's domain name folder arrangement is:

public_html (here my-default-domain.com is situated)
public_html/my-family (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-domain.com (an add-on domain name)
public_html/my-second-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-second-wife.net (an add-on domain)
public_html/my-third-domain.com (an add-on domain name)
public_html/my-third-wife (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/my-third-wife.net (an add-on domain)
public_html/rebeka (a folder part of my-default-domain.com)
public_html/rebeka.my-third-wife.net (a sub-domain of an add-on domain)

Are you getting perplexed? We absolutely are!

Disadvantage Number 2: The same email folder arrangement

The email folder arrangement on the web server is precisely the same as that of the domains... Making the same error twice?!? The sysadmin boys strongly strengthen their faith in God when handling the mail folders on the electronic mail server, praying not to botch things up too irretrievably.

Negative Aspect No.3: A thorough lack of domain administration options

Do we need to point out the thorough shortage of a contemporary domain name management GUI - a location where you can: register/migrate/renew/park or manage domains, edit domain names' Whois information, shield the Whois info, alter/set up name servers (DNS) and Domain Name System resource records? cPanel does not include such a "contemporary" section at all. That's a major downside. An unpardonable one, we want to point out...

Weakness Number Four: Multiple user login places (minimum 2, maximum three)

How about the necessity for an additional login to access the billing, domain name and tech support administration interface? That's aside from the cPanel account login credentials you've been already given by the cPanel Hosting vendor. Now and then, on the basis of the invoicing transaction system (principally created for cPanel solely) the cPanel Hosting corporation is using, the ardent customers can end up with 2 extra login locations (1: the billing transaction/domain name administration menu; 2: the trouble ticket support software), winding up with an aggregate of three login locations (counting cPanel).

Negative Aspect Number 5: 120+ hosting Control Panel menus to memorize... swiftly

cPanel presents for your consideration more than a hundred and twenty menus inside the website hosting CP. It's a fantastic idea to become familiar with each of them. And you'd better pick them up quickly... That's inordinately impertinent on cPanel's side.

With all due veneration, we have a rhetorical question for all cPanel Hosting vendors:

As far as we are aware of, it's not the year 2001, is it? Mark that one as well...
