What it solves

The gap

An online store needs far more than a cart: a catalog with variants and stock, content pages, payments, shipping, tax, promotions, returns, and an admin a whole team can share. Teams that build on Laravel want all of it in one codebase they can read, extend and run on their own servers.

What it is

PN Scripts Shop is a modular shop platform on Laravel 13, React 19 and Filament 5: a catalog, a CMS and the whole sale from cart to refund in one application, with a plugin and theme system and APIs for anything it does not do out of the box.

How you use it

Install it with composer create-project and php artisan pnshop:install, or through the web installer. Add products in the admin and take orders. Updates arrive with composer update and php artisan pnshop:update, which checks plugins, takes a backup and keeps a version history.

PN Scripts Shop is a standalone application you install on your own server. It is not a plugin for another shop platform, and it is not part of this website.

What it does

Catalog and content

Products with variants, each with its own SKU, price and stock, kept in a stock ledger that reserves items at checkout. Pages are built from content blocks with revisions and scheduled publishing, and SEO, sitemaps and redirects come built in.

The whole sale

Database carts that survive sign-in, guest or account checkout, and orders with their own payment and fulfilment states. Stripe, cash on delivery and bank transfer, shipping zones, tax rates, promotions and coupons, partial shipments, invoices and returns with refunds.

Extend without forking

Plugins add admin screens, settings, permissions, payment methods, promotion types, content blocks and storefront slots. Child themes override files by path. The Store API serves headless storefronts and apps, and the Admin API takes staff tokens limited to chosen permissions.

Installs and updates cleanly

A command-line or web installer with no default accounts. The core is a Composer package, so updates are composer update and pnshop:update, with a dry run, backups and plugin checks. Tested on SQLite, MySQL and PostgreSQL on every change.

Questions

Yes: catalog, CMS, checkout, payments, shipping, tax, promotions, returns, plugins, themes and APIs, plus price lists for business customers, stock in several locations and several storefronts on one installation.

Cash on delivery and bank transfer are built in, and business customers can pay by invoice later. Card payments come as plugins, and Stripe Checkout and PayPal are included. Gift cards and store credit can pay part or all of an order. Other gateways can be added through the payment gateway contract.

Run composer create-project pnscripts/pn-shop shop, then php artisan pnshop:install, or upload the files and open the web installer at /install. There are no default accounts: the installer creates the first administrator. The --demo option adds sample categories and products.

The core is the Composer package pnscripts/pn-shop-core. Run composer update, then php artisan pnshop:update, which checks plugin compatibility, takes a backup, can do a dry run and keeps a version history. Your own code, plugins and themes stay in the project.

Staff accounts are separate from customer accounts, with roles, permissions and an activity log, and staff cannot hand out permissions they do not hold. API tokens are limited to chosen permissions. Release 1.0 went through a security review of authorization, the APIs, input and files, and money and concurrency: a double submit cannot place two orders, refunds are serialized, installing plugins from uploaded archives is off by default, and plugins can be signed with Ed25519.

The storefront pages and API lists have query-count tests, the storefront ships as a prebuilt bundle with a size budget checked on every change, and the APIs use cursor pagination. The test suite passes on SQLite, MySQL and PostgreSQL.

PHP 8.4 or newer with intl, bcmath and sodium, and MySQL 8, MariaDB 10.6+, PostgreSQL 14+ or SQLite. Node is only needed to build themes from source; the default storefront ships prebuilt.
