The gap
Single-screen climbers look simple but need slope physics, ladder rules, hazards that fall between platforms and a way to test every screen without playing it by hand.
What it is
This template gives four working screens as data, shared hazard code and a bot that climbs every screen in the smoke test.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
Each screen is a list of platform segments, ladders, lifts and items; move a ladder or tilt a girder by changing one row.
The bot routes over platforms, ladders and lifts, then simulates the hazards for 40 steps to choose between walking, waiting, backing off and jumping.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
