The gap
A dice opponent that keeps the highest dice or always fills the best box now plays badly and gives no challenge.
What it is
This template ships a computer player that samples every keep pattern and weighs scores against what each box is usually worth.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
For each of the 32 ways to keep dice, the computer rolls the rest many times in its head and averages the best box it could fill; the strengths differ in samples and noise.
A score is compared with the typical value of each box, with extra weight on the upper bonus, so a poor roll goes into a cheap box instead of spoiling a straight.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
