The gap
Rope physics that feels good is fiddly, and a one-button swing game can leave a player hanging still with no way to gain speed.
What it is
This template ships a tuned rope with reel-in, a swing assist in the direction of travel and slack that never builds up.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
After each step the body is pulled back onto the circle around the ring and its outward speed is removed; shortening the rope a little each step gives the swing its pull.
A small push along the direction of travel pumps the swing like a kick, so a player who only holds and releases still gains height.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
