The gap
A survival loop needs resources, threats and a clock that pull against each other, plus lighting that reads well on a plain canvas.
What it is
This template gives you a tuned fire, warmth and wolf model with canvas lighting, touch controls and a bot, ready to reskin.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
Fuel per branch and log, burn rate, warmth drain and wolf numbers are constants at the top of game.js and in two short functions.
drawDark() paints the night on a half-size offscreen canvas and cuts soft holes for the fire and the torch, then adds a warm glow.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D with no runtime dependencies; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
