Filament table of sent e-mails with subject, sending class, recipient, tags, attachments and redaction counts

What it solves

The gap

When a customer says they never got the invoice or the account e-mail, most Laravel apps cannot show what was sent, to whom and when. Mail logs in files are hard to search, often keep passwords and tokens in plain text, and grow forever.

What it is

Sentfold stores each sent message in a database table as it leaves the app, redacts secrets first, prunes old mail on a schedule and gives support staff a Filament screen to find, preview, resend or export any message.

How you use it

Install, migrate and every message is archived: complete enough to answer any "did we send it?" question, careful enough with secrets and retention to keep.

For Laravel teams that need a searchable record of their outgoing mail for support and audits, without storing secrets and without writing their own logging.

Who it is for

Use it when

  • Support checks whether an order confirmation or invoice reached the customer and resends it
  • A team audits which notifications a release started sending and to whom
  • An agency gives clients a read-only record of their app's mail inside their Filament panel

Built for

  • Laravel developers and teams running applications that send transactional e-mail
  • Agencies building Filament admin panels for clients

What is inside

Archived without code changes

Sentfold hooks into Laravel's MessageSent event. Every message that goes through Laravel's mailer is stored after it was handed to the transport, whether it came from a Mailable, a notification, Mail::raw or a queue worker. Each row records the class that sent it, so you can filter by it later.

Careful with secrets

Regular expressions run over the subject and bodies before storing; the defaults catch passwords, tokens and signatures in links, reset-password links and Bearer tokens, and you can add your own. Password reset notifications keep only the envelope. The number of redactions is stored, and the resend dialog warns when the copy is redacted.

A screen for support

The Filament resource lists every message with subject, class, recipients, tags and attachments, searchable by subject and address. The view page previews the HTML in a sandboxed frame with no scripts and no access to the panel, shows the text and source, and offers resend and .eml download. Access can be limited with two callbacks.

Retention that runs itself

sentfold:prune deletes mail older than the retention period in chunks of 500, together with stored attachment files. A dry run shows what would go. Schedule it once and the archive stays the size you decided.

Questions

A Laravel package that stores every outgoing e-mail in a database table, redacts secrets, prunes old mail, and adds a Filament resource to browse, preview, resend and export messages.

PHP 8.2 or newer and Laravel 12 or 13. The panel part needs Filament 4 or 5. It was tested on Laravel 13 with Filament 5 and on Laravel 12 with Filament 4, on PHP 8.4.

Delivery tracking (opens, bounces, clicks), mail sent outside Laravel's mailer, and redaction inside attachment files. It was not tested on MySQL or PostgreSQL, only SQLite.

The package is covered by 60 Testbench tests (archiving, redaction, pruning, resend, .eml and the Filament pages and actions), run on two Laravel and Filament combinations, and it was installed from its ZIP into a fresh Laravel application with a Filament panel. Created with AI assistance; the package was checked by PN Scripts with 60 Testbench tests on Laravel 12 and 13 with Filament 4 and 5, and by installing the ZIP into a fresh Laravel 13 application with a Filament 5 panel.
