The gap
Wildcards make line detection ambiguous: a moss pebble can belong to a line of any colour in any of four directions.
What it is
Each direction tries every colour through the moved pebble and keeps the longest run that holds at least one real pebble of that colour.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
The fen, the next three pebbles, the score and the goal counters live in one object, so the same functions run the game, the attract scene and the offline stage checks.
The bot scores every five-cell window through the source and the target of each move, rewarding windows of one colour that fill up, so it builds lines and keeps the board open.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
