The gap
Roguelikes usually need maps, combat systems and content, which is a lot of work for a small studio.
What it is
This template packs a whole dungeon into a deck of cards with a handful of rules, then adds depth through vaults and relics.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
canBlade, bladeCost, bareCost and canFlee hold every rule, and relics only change those functions, so new relics are short.
A small search over the order of the cards in a room powers the bot and can be reused for hints or a smarter auto-play.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
