The gap
Sites change their URLs, and every old link that now ends in a 404 loses visitors and search ranking, while hand-written redirect lists quietly grow loops and chains nobody notices.
WordPress
Keep old links working after a redesign or migration: 301 to 410 rules by exact path, prefix or regex, a 404 log with one-click fixes, CSV import, and loops refused before they go live.

The gap
Sites change their URLs, and every old link that now ends in a 404 loses visitors and search ranking, while hand-written redirect lists quietly grow loops and chains nobody notices.
What it is
Waymend keeps redirects in one screen, shows which missing URLs are still requested, and checks every new rule for loops before it goes live.
How you use it
Exact, prefix and regex rules with hit counts and a 404 log in one place, with loop detection that refuses broken rules instead of letting browsers find them.
For site owners and agencies who move pages, restructure shops or migrate sites and want old links to keep working without .htaccess edits.
Use it when
Built for
Exact rules handle single pages and ignore trailing slashes and letter case. Prefix rules move a whole section and carry the rest of the path over, matching whole segments only. Regex rules rewrite patterns with $1 and ${2}, run in a set order, and broken patterns are refused when you save. Each rule can answer 301, 302, 307 or 410.
Every new or imported rule is followed hop by hop against the existing ones. A rule that would send a visitor back to a URL already visited is refused, and one whose target is redirected again is saved with a warning that names the final URL. The Test a URL box traces any address, and on the live site a URL is never redirected to itself.
Each missing URL is stored once, with its hit count, first and last time and the last referrer; IP addresses and user agents are never stored. Common vulnerability scans are skipped by default, the log is trimmed daily to a size you set, and Redirect this turns an entry into a rule with a suggested target.
Export every rule with its hits, edit it in a spreadsheet and import it back, or import a two-column list from another tool. Separators and column names are detected, each row is validated like a manual rule, and problems are listed by line. Rules can be enabled, disabled, reset or deleted in bulk, and deleting the plugin removes its tables.
