The gap
Maze chases feel unfair when movement snaps badly or chasers look random; good ones need precise tile-centre movement and readable chaser rules.

The gap
Maze chases feel unfair when movement snaps badly or chasers look random; good ones need precise tile-centre movement and readable chaser rules.
What it is
This template moves everyone with one tile-centre function and gives each fox a clear, documented target rule.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
Badger and foxes move by the same stepper that stops at tile centres to choose a direction, so turns, tunnels and walls behave the same for all.
Each fox picks the open direction closest to its own target: you, a point ahead of you, a point mirrored from the leader, or its corner when close.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
