The gap
Learning to give change takes practice with real denominations, and floating-point sums in code make money games round wrongly.
What it is
This template keeps every amount in whole cents, builds tasks from the real euro set, checks change exactly and shows the shortest way to pay when the player uses too many coins.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
Every coin and note is an integer number of cents, so totals, prices and change never meet rounding errors, and the shown amounts are formatted per language.
The euro denominations are a canonical coin system, so taking the largest piece that fits, again and again, always gives the fewest coins and notes; the game uses that to check the fewest-coins task.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
