The gap
Multiple-choice quizzes test recall of single facts; ordering events teaches how they relate in time but is fiddly to build well on a phone.
What it is
This template places cards with one tap or two keys, opens the chosen gap visibly, scrolls the line for you and files wrong cards in their true place so the player still learns the order.
How you use it
Unzip, serve the folder and open index.html, then edit game.js; npm test plays it again in headless Chrome.
Source code of a real, playable game to reskin and learn from, with a smoke test whose bot plays it.
Use it when
Built for
Every event is one row with a theme, a year and its text in two languages; chapters are filters over that table, so new decks need no code.
A card fits a gap when its year is between the neighbours' years, inclusive, so events from the same year are accepted on either side.
Plain JavaScript and Canvas 2D; open index.html through any static server and edit game.js.
A headless Chrome test loads the game, checks the console, presses keys and taps, and lets the built-in bot play a run to its result screen.
