The gap
Inventory and shop screens need many item icons in one consistent style, and mixing free icons from different sources gives clashing outlines, palettes and sizes.
What it is
Hoardling gives 174 item icons drawn with the same outline, lighting and palette, in three sizes, with sheets, atlases and a names list that drop straight into an engine.
How you use it
A complete, consistent set of everyday RPG items, ready for code, so the inventory looks finished from the first build.
For indie developers making RPGs, roguelikes and crafting games with a pixel-art look.
Use it when
Built for
Potions in three bottle shapes and six colours, daggers to longswords in five metals, hatchets and battle axes, bows, wands and staffs, three shield shapes, two helmets, breastplates, tunics and boots, rings and amulets, three gem cuts in six stones, coins, pouches and keys, scrolls and tomes, food, herbs, ores and ingots. All share the outline, light direction and palette.
Every icon is a transparent PNG at 32, 64 and 128 px in a folder for its category, with hard alpha only. Sprite sheets at the same sizes come with JSON atlases in the TexturePacker hash format, with 2 px padding between frames. Import with point filtering and no compression to keep the pixels crisp.
icons.csv gives each icon a stable id, a display name such as Steel Longsword or Frost Vial, its category, file paths and its position on the 1x sheet. The palette ships as a .gpl file for GIMP or Aseprite and as a swatch image, so new items can match the set.
Automated tests rebuild the pack and check every icon: size and colour mode, transparent background, a closed outline, colours only from the palette and at most 16 per icon, no duplicates, exact 2x and 4x copies, and atlas frames that match the single PNGs.
