WooCommerce block checkout with I need an invoice ticked, company fields filled in and a message under the EIK field about a wrong check digit

What it solves

The gap

Bulgarian customers often need an invoice, and shops collect the company details in the order note or by phone after the order. Typos in the EIK or VAT number surface only when the accountant issues the invoice, and the details end up scattered across e-mails.

What it is

Rekvizit asks for the invoice details in the checkout only when the customer wants an invoice, checks the EIK and VAT number before the order is placed, and keeps the details with the order wherever the shop looks: order screen, e-mails, REST API and a monthly CSV.

How you use it

Fewer wrong EIKs and VAT numbers, no invoice details lost in order notes, and one CSV for the accountant at the end of the month.

For WooCommerce shops that sell to Bulgarian companies and want clean invoice details on every order, in the block checkout or the classic one.

Who it is for

Use it when

  • An online shop whose business customers ask for an invoice with every order
  • A B2B supplier that wants the VAT number of every company customer checked in VIES
  • A shop owner who sends the month's invoice requests to the accountant as one file

Built for

  • WooCommerce shop owners in Bulgaria who issue invoices to companies
  • Agencies and developers building Bulgarian WooCommerce shops

What is inside

Fields only when they are needed

Customers who do not need an invoice see one checkbox. Ticking it opens "Invoice to" and the company fields, which follow your settings: MOL hidden, optional or required, the address optional or required, the VAT number on or off, individuals allowed or not.

Checks that catch real typos

Both EIK check digits, the VAT format of every EU country and XI, and the check digit of Bulgarian VAT numbers built from an EIK, EGN or LNCh. Spaces and dots are removed and a missing BG is added. Messages say exactly what is wrong, for example that an EIK has 9 or 13 digits and this one has 8.

VIES when you want it

With the VIES check on, only the VAT number is sent to the European Commission's service. A registered number is kept on the order with the name VIES returns, a number VIES does not know is refused, and when VIES is down you choose whether the order goes through with a note or waits.

One place for the accountant

Invoice requests lists every order that asked for an invoice in a period, paid or all, with the VIES status, and downloads it as a CSV that Excel opens directly. Developers get the same details from a PHP function and the REST API.

Questions

A WooCommerce plugin that collects invoice details at checkout (company name, EIK/BULSTAT, VAT number, MOL, registered address), checks the EIK and VAT number, can check VAT numbers in VIES and shows the details with the order, in e-mails and in a CSV.

WordPress 6.5, WooCommerce 9.9 and PHP 8.1 or newer. It was tested with WordPress 7.1.3, WooCommerce 11.2.1 and PHP 8.4, in the block checkout and the classic checkout. The VIES check needs outgoing HTTPS to ec.europa.eu.

Issuing, numbering or sending invoices, VAT exemption or reverse charge at checkout, and checks against the Bulgarian Commercial Register. It is not legal or tax advice; your accountant decides what an invoice needs.

PN Scripts, a studio that builds online shops for Bulgarian businesses, made it and tested it with unit tests for every rule and message, an end-to-end run on a fresh shop with orders through the Store API and the classic form, and a browser test of the block checkout. Created with AI assistance; the checks, both checkouts, e-mails, admin screens, CSV and REST API were tested by PN Scripts with 69 unit tests, an end-to-end run on WordPress 7.1.3 and WooCommerce 11.2.1 and a browser test of the block checkout in Chrome.
