The gap
Music notation is easy to draw wrong, and a learning game needs a fair repetition schedule that is hard to test by playing.
Game templates

The gap
Music notation is easy to draw wrong, and a learning game needs a fair repetition schedule that is hard to test by playing.
What it is
A finished, tested note-reading game whose notation and spaced repetition are checked by unit tests and bots.
How you use it
Unzip, run npm ci and npm run dev, then edit src/game.config.ts; npm test checks the notation and the stages again in seconds.
Source code of a real, playable learning game to reskin and learn from, with its proofs built into the tests.
Use it when
Built for
Stages with their notes, clef, key signature and lesson line, stars, repetition intervals, colours and sound.
On every npm test every note in both clefs and every key signature is compared with a table of standard notation.
20 stages from the treble clef to key signatures, practice, a daily set and a tree of songbirds that shows what the player knows.
74 unit tests and Playwright browser runs, a size budget, an upload zip for itch.io or any static host, and a guide to the curriculum and other note names.
