The Dashboard sheet of the example workbook with take-home before tax, earnings per hour, tax set-aside, tips, rent paid and the next estimated payment, a chart by month and the best services per hour

What it solves

The gap

Booth renters are their own business: rent, product and self-employment tax come out of every service, and the IRS expects estimated payments every quarter, while most salon apps only show what was booked.

What it is

One workbook that turns a five-minute weekly log into take-home pay, profit per service and per hour, a booth rent versus commission comparison and a quarterly tax set-aside with the IRS due dates.

How you use it

Fill in Settings and your service menu once, then log each week and check Quarterly Taxes before each 1040-ES due date.

Built for booth and suite renters: take-home, service profit per hour and quarterly taxes in a plain workbook without macros or a subscription.

Who it is for

Use it when

  • Deciding between booth rent and a commission chair.
  • Pricing services by profit per hour.
  • Setting money aside for the quarterly estimated tax payments.

Built for

  • Hair stylists, barbers, nail techs and lash artists in the United States who rent a booth or suite.
  • Salon suite renters who file Schedule C.

What is inside

Booth rent or commission

Enter your split, the product charge, your rent and supplies. The sheet shows weekly and yearly take-home both ways, including self-employment tax against employee payroll tax, and the weekly revenue where both pay the same.

Service menu check

Price, chair minutes, product cost and how often each service is booked give the profit per service and per hour after a fair share of your rent, ranked from best to worst.

Quarterly estimated taxes

Profit by IRS estimated-tax period, self-employment tax with the 2026 wage base, an income tax set-aside and the suggested payment for each 2026 Form 1040-ES due date, with what you already paid.

Weekly log and dashboard

One row per week from your booking app or POS totals. The dashboard shows take-home before tax, earnings per hour, tips, rent paid, the tax set-aside and the next estimated payment.
