The Plateshka window with a beneficiary, IBAN, an amount in euro and an RF reference, and the EPC QR code next to them

What it solves

The gap

Customers retype IBANs and references from invoices and make mistakes, while the EPC QR code that fills a transfer in their bank app needs exact formatting that general QR tools do not check.

What it is

Plateshka builds EPC069-12 codes from checked payment details, one at a time in a window or in bulk from a CSV file, and shows exactly what goes into each code.

How you use it

Correct payment QR codes on every invoice, without typing IBANs twice.

A small, careful Linux app for anyone who sends euro invoices and wants customers to pay by scanning.

Who it is for

Use it when

  • A freelancer who adds a payment QR code to every PDF invoice before sending it
  • A small company that exports a month of invoices to CSV and gets a code for each
  • An accountant who keeps the bank details of several clients as saved beneficiaries

Built for

  • Freelancers and small businesses on Linux that invoice in euro
  • Accountants and office administrators who prepare invoices

What is inside

The code bank apps scan

Plateshka writes the EPC069-12 version 002 text: BCD, the BIC, the beneficiary, the IBAN, the amount in euro, an optional purpose code, an RF reference or a description and a note, with error correction M within 331 bytes. The text is shown under the code.

Checked before it is made

IBAN check digits and lengths for the SEPA countries, the BIC format and country, the amount range and the RF reference are checked while you type. Every problem is explained in words and the buttons stay off until the code is valid.

Copy, save, print

Copy the image and paste it into an invoice, save a PNG or a scalable SVG, or print a 50 mm code with the beneficiary, IBAN, amount and reference under it. Saved beneficiaries fill the first three fields.

A code for every invoice

A CSV file from a spreadsheet or an accounting program, with columns named in English or Bulgarian, becomes one PNG per row and a report of the rows with problems, from the window or with plateshka batch on the command line.

Questions

A Linux desktop app that makes EPC payment QR codes for SEPA credit transfers in euro, one at a time or one per row of a CSV file, with a command line for scripts. It comes as a .deb package and a source archive with a README and a man page.

Linux with Python 3.11 or newer, GTK 4.10 or newer, libadwaita 1.4 or newer and PyGObject with cairo, as in Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 13. It was tested on Ubuntu 24.04 with GTK 4.14.5 and libadwaita 1.5.

It does not read QR codes, send invoices or connect to a bank, and it supports only euro and SEPA countries. Other distributions, real printers and scanning with banking apps were not part of the tests; whether an app reads EPC codes is up to each bank.

Made by PN Scripts, a Sofia studio that builds games and tools, in Python with GTK 4 and libadwaita, with the segno library for QR encoding. Created with AI assistance; PN Scripts checked it with 31 PyTest tests and an automated check of the installed package, the command line and the window in English and Bulgarian, with every code it made decoded back.

It is not on sale yet. When it is, this page will link to the store; PN Scripts does not take payment on this site.
