Pomnya's sidebar next to a person note: a wedding anniversary today, five birthdays and anniversaries in the next two weeks and a keep-in-touch list

What it solves

The gap

Birthdays and promises to call people get lost in a notes app: the dates are there in the notes, but nothing tells you when one is coming or who you have not talked to in months.

What it is

Pomnya reads the dates and rhythms from your people notes and keeps them in front of you, in the sidebar, in any note and as a notice when Obsidian opens, without another app or account.

How you use it

Never miss a birthday or let a friendship go quiet, from notes you already have.

A one-time personal CRM layer for Obsidian users who keep notes about friends, family, clients and colleagues.

Who it is for

Use it when

  • Someone who keeps a note per friend and wants a birthday list without a separate contacts app
  • A freelancer who wants to hear from each client every quarter and see who is overdue
  • A family historian whose vault holds birthdays and wedding dates for the whole family

Built for

  • Obsidian users who keep notes about people
  • Freelancers and small teams who use Obsidian as a light CRM

What is inside

From the notes you already keep

Add birthday, anniversary, contact_every and last_contact to a person's note, or keep using the properties you have: born, dob, keep_in_touch and similar names are read too. People are found in a folder, by a tag, or by having a birthday.

Today and the weeks ahead

The sidebar shows today's birthdays and anniversaries, then everything in the coming days with ages and years, and a notice says what today brings when Obsidian opens. Click a name to open the person's note.

Keep in touch

A rhythm such as 2w, 1m or quarterly per person puts them in the keep-in-touch list when the time has passed, most overdue first, with the date of the last contact. One command logs today's contact in the note's frontmatter.

In any note

Code blocks show the month, the coming days or the keep-in-touch list inside a dashboard note, and two commands write today's or the coming dates into your daily note as links. Bulgarian name days or your own list can be added.

Questions

A plugin for Obsidian that reads birthdays, anniversaries and keep-in-touch rhythms from your people notes and shows reminders in a sidebar, a month calendar, code blocks and a notice when Obsidian opens. It comes as a zip with the plugin folder, a README and pictures.

Obsidian 1.7.2 or newer on desktop or mobile, and notes about people with a birthday, anniversary or contact_every property. You copy the plugin folder into your vault's plugins folder and turn it on.

Phone or e-mail notifications, calendar sync, importing contacts and CRM fields beyond dates and rhythms. It was tested on a stand-in for the Obsidian API with its published types, not run inside the Obsidian app during development, so try it on a copy of your vault first.

Made by PN Scripts, a Sofia studio that builds games and tools, in TypeScript on Obsidian's public plugin API, reading notes through Obsidian's metadata cache and writing only through its frontmatter API. Created with AI assistance; the code was written for this product and checked by PN Scripts with 23 automated tests, including the release zip loaded the way Obsidian loads plugins.
