The gap
Placing hundreds of overlapping shingles or scales by hand is slow, and array modifiers do not follow curved surfaces or stagger rows.

The gap
Placing hundreds of overlapping shingles or scales by hand is slow, and array modifiers do not follow curved surfaces or stagger rows.
What it is
One click adds a modifier that covers the surface with staggered, overlapping rows of tiles that follow its UV map.
How you use it
Unwrap, click once, then set Columns, Rows, Overlap and Tilt.
A micro-tool for one job, overlapping rows on any surface, not a full roof or building generator.
Use it when
Built for
Tiles are laid out on the UV map: rows run along V, tiles along U. A flat roof, a dome, a tower or a creature all work the same way.
Every row overlaps the one below and every other row shifts by half a tile, like real shingles. Tilt lifts each lower edge; Gap opens the joints.
A built-in slab tile with a thickness and your material, or a collection of your own tiles; each tile picks one at random.
Min Width skips cells that pinch to nothing at UV poles, and the count is capped at 400 tiles per side, so a big number cannot freeze Blender.
